Discover Rattenberg - Austria's Smallest Town!
Have you recently moved to Tyrol form abroad and started working at a Tyrolean company or university?
The Welcome Service Tirol is delighted to welcome you and invites you to a special event designed to help you connect and explore your new surroundings:
This time we’ll be visiting the medieval town of Rattenberg. With around 500 residents spread over just 11 hectares, Rattenberg is not only Austria’s smallest town, but also one of its most charming. Historic facades, traditional glassblowing craftsmanship, and a unique atmosphere make Rattenberg a true gem.
Together with our local guide, we’ll explore the town’s winding alleys and learn fascinating facts about its history and daily life. A highlight of the tour is the visit to the former Augustinian monastery, now a museum offering deep insights into the religious and cultural heritage of the region.
For children aged seven and older, we offer a special children’s tour running parallel to the main city tour. Please note that each child must be accompanied by at least one parent.
After the tour, we’ll round off the day with a relaxed get-together at the Malerwinkel restaurant. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy dinner and connect with others in a pleasant and relaxed setting. Please note that there is no organized entertainment program for children in the restaurant.

Cost
Participation in the guided tour is free of charge. Food and drinks at the restaurant are at the participants’ own expense.
Registration
Please register yourself and/or your partner online by 16 November 2025.
As the number of participants is limited, attendance is only possible after receiving a written confirmation from Welcome Service Tirol. If registrations exceed available spots, priority will be given to those who have recently moved to Tyrol. Due to limited capacity, we kindly ask that you attend reliably if your participation is confirmed by Welcome Service Tirol.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend, please inform us as soon as possible. This allows us to offer the spot to someone on the waiting list.
Please note: Individuals who have received a confirmation but do not attend without notice may not be considered for future events.
Target Group
This invitation is intended for qualified professionals, researchers, and scientists who have moved to Tyrol from abroad recently and are employed long-term at a Tyrolean company or university. Partners and children are warmly welcome.
Language
The city tour for adults will be conducted in English. The children’s tour (for ages seven and up) will be held in German and/or English, depending on the participants' needs.
