An Informal Alpine Talk with Practical Tips for Safe Hiking in the Tyrolean Mountains.
Have you moved to Tyrol from abroad to take up a long-term position as a highly qualified professional, scientist or researcher at a Tyrolean company or a Tyrolean higher education institution? The Welcome Service Tirol is pleased to welcome you to Tyrol and warmly invites you to this event:
On 16 October 2026, Peter Plattner, a state-certified mountain and ski guide and alpine safety expert, will speak about safe hiking. As the golden autumn still invites many people to enjoy the outdoors and explore the mountains, he will share his knowledge and practical experience during an informal talk. Participants will receive valuable tips on tour planning, equipment, weather, risk assessment and safe behaviour in the mountains. The expert will also be happy to answer participants' questions.
After the talk, there will be time to connect with other participants. Take the opportunity to meet other international professionals, scientists and researchers, exchange ideas and experiences, and expand your personal network in Tyrol.
The event will be held in English. Partners are also warmly welcome.
Places will be allocated on a priority basis to individuals who have recently moved to Tyrol and have so far attended only a small number of Welcome Service Tirol events. Any remaining places will be made available to professionals, scientists and researchers who have already been living and working in Tyrol for some time.
